Natural Gas Price Down; Home Heating Oil Up



Regular unleaded gasoline prices in Iowa were down 1 cent this week, averaging $3.03 across Iowa.

The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $3.86 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $75.73.

Brent crude oil rose $4.11 and currently priced at $78.71.

One year ago, WTI crude sold for $48.46 and Brent crude was at $51.35.

As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.03 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 1 cent from last week's price and 83 cents higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.28, down 2 cents from last week's price.

Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 1 cent this week with a statewide average of $3.32. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.44 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 25 cents less than the national average of $3.57.

Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.14.

The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.22 for U87-E10, $2.32 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.40 for ULSD#2, $2.64 for ULSD#1, and $2.58 per gallon for E-70 prices.

Propane prices held steady with a statewide average of $1.89 per gallon.

Home heating oil prices rose 16 cents, with a statewide average of $2.91 per gallon.

Natural gas prices fell 2 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $3.90/MMbtu.
