Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the Iowa Beef Center are hosting six Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certification sessions in January 2025. These sessions are designed for initial certification and recertification to help Iowa beef producers maintain compliance with industry standards.
Importance of Certification
BQA certification is essential for selling cattle to processors like Tyson Foods, Cargill, and Iowa Premium, as well as several sale barns. The certification, valid for three years, ensures producers follow best practices in cattle management, including proper injection site techniques and recordkeeping.
