Brent Oden, an Iowa farmer, always believed that one day he would win the lottery, and his persistence finally paid off. Despite only winning smaller prizes in the past, he never lost hope and continued playing. His wife, Julie, was initially skeptical after 25 years of playing without a significant win.
During a routine coffee run at a gas station, Oden decided to have his Lucky for Life ticket checked by a cashier. To his amazement, the cashier revealed that he had won big by matching the first five numbers in a Lucky for Life drawing.
Oden, a farmer and sanitation business owner, was in shock, and those around him were also amazed. He decided to receive a lump-sum payment of $390,000 instead of the $25,000 annual payout for life.
Now, Oden plans to use his winnings to pay off his debts, buy a new truck, and take his wife on a vacation. He also said that he plans to donate some of his winnings to charity.
