Iowa farmers made good progress on their harvest and fieldwork during the week ending November 12, 2023, thanks to warm, dry weather. According to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service, there were 6.7 days suitable for fieldwork during the week.

Farmers were able to make good progress on the corn harvest, with 94% of the crop now harvested. This is on pace with last year but 10 days ahead of the five-year average. The soybean harvest is also nearly complete, with 99% of the crop now harvested. This is on pace with last year and 9 days ahead of the average.

Cattle continued to graze on stalk fields this week, while livestock producers still had concerns about water supplies.

Overall, Iowa farmers are making good progress on their harvest and fieldwork. The warm, dry weather conditions have been favorable for fieldwork, and farmers are taking advantage of this opportunity to get ahead.
