Iowa Farm Commodity Prices Above a Year Ago



The average price received by farmers for corn during November 2022 in Iowa was $6.50 per bushel according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report. This was 3 cents below the October price but $1.27 above November 2021.

The November 2022 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $14.20 per bushel, was 80 cents above the October price and $2.00 above the November 2021 price.

All hay prices in Iowa averaged $172.00 per ton in November. This was $11.00 above the October price but $15.00 below the November 2021 price. The November 2022 alfalfa hay price, at $176.00, was $2.00 above the previous month but $19.00 below November 2021. The average price received for other hay during November was $152.00 per ton. This was $10.00 above the October price and $13.00 above November last year.

The average price for milk was $24.30 per cwt, 20 cents below the October price but $3.60 above November 2021.
