Members of the Iowa Farm Bureau gathered at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center this month to celebrate the achievements of 100 county Farm Bureaus. The two-day event featured educational sessions, updates on national policy, and the election of key leadership positions.
Highlights of the Annual Meeting:
Brent Johnson Re-elected President: Calhoun County farmer Brent Johnson received overwhelming support for a second two-year term as president of the Iowa Farm Bureau.
Farm Bill Updates: Members received valuable information on the extended farm bill and the next steps for a new five-year farm bill.
Governor's Address: Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds virtually addressed members, highlighting her strong support for agriculture and proclaiming December 4-8 as Iowa Farm Bureau Week.
Board of Directors Elections: Andy Hill (District 2), Rick Plowman (District 7), and Will Frazee (District 9) were re-elected to the IFBF Board of Directors.
Delegates Elected: Nine delegates were chosen to represent Iowa at the 2024 AFBF Annual Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Distinguished Service to Agriculture Awards: Craig McEnany and Dale Uehling were recognized for their significant contributions to Iowa agriculture and community leadership.
Young Farmer Discussion Meet: Sarah Tweeten of Cerro Gordo County was named the winner and will represent Iowa at the national competition.
The annual meeting served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of the Iowa Farm Bureau, provide valuable updates on important issues, and elect leadership to continue representing the interests of Iowa farmers.
