Iowa’s Hannah and Matthew Lansing, members of Prairie Farms, Inc., will guide the National Young Cooperators (YC) Program in 2024. Elected as chairpersons, they aim to foster discussions, represent the program at events, and provide insights beneficial to young dairy leaders.
With their operation at Blue Hyll Dairy in Clinton, IA, managing 1,100 cows across 5,000 acres alongside Hannah's grandparents, the Lansings are eager to expand their advocacy for dairy while improving their farm operations.
Joining them in leadership, Ohio's Karl Wedemeyer, a Dairy Farmers of America member, was chosen as the vice chairperson. Wedemeyer manages White Diamond Farm in La Rue, Ohio, milking 200 Jerseys across 80 acres in a partnership with family.
The National YC Program, fostering dairy farmer development for over 70 years, empowers producers with essential education, resources, and leadership skills through year-round programs.
This year’s leadership aims to engage young dairy farmers, enrich their skills, and encourage collaboration within the dairy community. Stay updated on program activities to support and promote the growth of young dairy advocates.
