Gov. Reynolds Enhances Trade Relationships with Italy


Governor Kim Reynolds successfully completed her trade mission in Italy and is now headed to Kosovo. During her time in Italy, Gov. Reynolds engaged in important meetings and discussions to strengthen Iowa's trade ties and explore potential business opportunities.

One significant meeting was held with Deputy Director General Beth Bechdol from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. They talked about how Iowa can contribute to promoting global food security. Gov. Reynolds also met with Adolfo Urso, Italy's Minister of Enterprises, to discuss ways to enhance trade relations and future collaborations.

The governor also visited prominent companies, including Ferrero Group, a sweet-packaged food company and the new owner of Wells Enterprises in Iowa. She learned about their operations and potential for growth. Another visit was to SPAL Automotive, a global manufacturer of electric fans and fluid pumps, which has a sales center in Iowa. Gov. Reynolds also explored collaboration opportunities with Maschio Gaspardo, an agricultural equipment manufacturer with facilities in Iowa.

As part of her visit, Gov. Reynolds renewed the Iowa-Veneto Sister State Agreement with Vice President Elisa De Berti. This partnership has brought cultural exchanges and meaningful connections between Iowa and Veneto.

Gov. Reynolds' trade mission aims to strengthen Iowa's economy, promote collaboration, and create opportunities for businesses. Her visit to Italy has laid a solid foundation for future partnerships, showcasing Iowa's potential on the global stage.
