By Andi Anderson

The 2025 Four-State Dairy Nutrition and Management Conference will be held on June 11 and 12 at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Dairy farmers, industry experts, and students are invited to attend two days of learning, networking, and sharing research focused on improving dairy farm productivity and profitability.

This collaborative event is hosted by Iowa State University, University of Illinois, University of Minnesota, and University of Wisconsin. It features expert-led sessions, a trade show, and networking receptions.

A pre-conference symposium sponsored by Arm & Hammer Animal Nutrition will explore livestock health. Topics include calf immunity, mycotoxin risks, and probiotic research.

The general conference includes international and national speakers like Alex Bach from Spain, who will discuss ways to boost farm profits through better nutrition and management.

Additional sessions will cover reproductive health, feeding efficiency, and corn silage management. A panel of award-winning farmers will also share success stories in achieving high milk solids.

Breakout sessions will dive into topics such as:

  • Amino acids and fatty acid synthesis
  • Performance of dairy replacements
  • Heat stress costs
  • Use of videos in feed management
  • Forage mixes and cow production
  • New dairy technologies
  • Reproductive strategies with AI

A highlight of the conference is the Three-Minute Student Thesis contest, where graduate students present research in a fast and engaging format. A student poster session will also showcase fresh ideas and studies.

The trade show will feature over 40 companies displaying innovative dairy products and services. Continuing education credits are also available.

Registration is $225 for general attendees, $100 for university staff, and $50 for students. Rates increase after May 25. Visit the Four-State Dairy website to register or contact your state extension specialist.
