The deadline for Iowa farm owners to apply for the Century or Heritage Farm recognition is fast approaching. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship encourages eligible farm families to submit their applications by June 1, 2024. This recognition will be part of a special ceremony on August 15 during the 2024 Iowa State Fair.
Program Overview:
- Century Farm Program: Celebrating its 48th year, this program honors families who have owned their farms for 100 years. Established in 1976, more than 21,000 farms have been recognized.
- Heritage Farm Program: In its 18th year, this program honors farms owned for 150 years. Since its inception in 2006, over 1,800 farms have received this distinction.
Application Process: To be considered, completed applications must be postmarked or received by June 1, 2024. Applications can be downloaded from the Department's website and sent to:
