The Iowa Ag Expo is driving agricultural innovation with its exclusive event, Innovation After Hours. This initiative provides a platform for emerging ag startups to showcase technologies and solutions that enhance modern farming practices.
During the event, six selected startups will compete in the Startup Showcase for cash prizes. These companies specialize in various agricultural advancements, from wastewater management to AI-driven drone technology.
The participating startups include:
- Agriwater (TN): Specializes in wastewater treatment systems for livestock farmers to improve waste management.
- Gripp (WI): Provides record-keeping and communication tools for agriculture to streamline operations.
- Midland Co (IA): Develops innovative aquaculture production technology using new RAS systems.
- Persistent BioControl (IA): Introduces biocontrol nematodes to help farmers combat soil insects naturally.
- Sentinel Fertigation (NE): Uses satellite imagery and data analytics to optimize nitrogen management.
- Skysense AI Inc (WA): Develops AI-powered drone technology for precision farming and resource management.
Innovation After Hours is designed to connect startups with venture capitalists, agricultural executives, and industry leaders from across the country. This networking opportunity fosters collaboration and investment in transformative agricultural solutions.
The event is presented by leading organizations, including Farm Credit Services of America, Iowa Nebraska Equipment Dealers Association, BioConnect Iowa, Innoventure Iowa, Iowa State University, Ag Startup Engine, Start Something, and Catch Des Moines.
