U.S. Soy shines at Farm Progress Show

By Andi Anderson

The Farm Progress Show, held annually in the Midwest, is a key event for U.S. farmers to explore the latest agricultural innovations. Alternating between Iowa and Illinois, this outdoor tradeshow attracts thousands of farmers, agronomists, and industry professionals.

The 2024 show took place near Boone, Iowa, where attendees had the opportunity to see advancements that could shape farming in the coming years.

This year, the show featured cutting-edge technologies, including drones and automated farm equipment, providing farmers with efficient ways to manage their fields.

Exhibitors also presented new solutions for controlling weeds, managing cover crops, and protecting crops from diseases. Innovative irrigation systems that travel along rows rather than traditional circular systems were among the highlights.

As a director for the United Soybean Board, Brent Renner spent much of his time participating in media interviews about the versatility and sustainability of U.S. Soy.

He shared how soybean innovations, like SoyFoam firefighting foam, offer eco-friendly alternatives without harmful chemicals. He also highlighted the use of soybean oil in renewable products such as lubricants, cleaners, and tires.

In interviews with media, Renner discussed U.S. Soy’s role in supporting educational programs like Nourish the Future, which helps science teachers integrate agriculture into their curriculum.

He also spoke about the Farmers for Soil Health program, which promotes soil health practices like cover crops to improve farmer profitability and sustainability.

The Farm Progress Show not only provides a platform for exploring new agricultural technologies but also fosters connections among farmers, agronomists, and industry experts.

It is the place to be for finding and sharing innovative solutions, making it an essential event for those involved in U.S. agriculture. From cutting-edge technology to sustainable farming practices, the show highlights how U.S. Soy and other innovations are driving the future of farming.
