The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $7.29 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $89.80.
Brent crude oil rose $6.85 and currently priced at $95.50.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $70.46 and Brent crude was at $73.05.
As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.46 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices rose 3 cents from last week's price and $.46 higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.70 down 6 cents from last week's price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 5 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.86. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.10 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 14 cents less than the national average of $5.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.61 for U87-E10, $3.15 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.64 for ULSD#2, $3.93 for ULSD#1, and $2.77 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Natural gas prices rose $.96 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $8.81/MMbtu.
