Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering four Agriculture Field Days in 2025, inviting community members and anyone interested in farming to join in and learn from local farms.
These events will be held at different farms across the region, offering a chance to engage with farming experts and discover sustainable practices through live demonstrations. Each field day will have a unique agenda, but attendees can expect to experience farm tours and hear from local farmers about their journey, decision-making processes, and the support they receive from ISU Extension.
“Attendees will hear directly from farmers about how they built their farm, the decisions they make and why and how ISU Extension and Outreach is helping them as they move forward. After formal presentations about the field day topic, we encourage attendees to chat with extension specialists and socialize with fellow community members,” said Graham Sandersfeld.
The dates for the 2025 Agriculture Field Days are as follows:
- May 9, Sweet Tooth Farms, Des Moines: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- June 9, ReEvolution Farms, Dubuque: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- July 9, Southern Goods, LLC, Waterloo: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- Sept. 17, Sinsinawa Mound Collaborative Farm, Sinsinawa, WI: 12-2 p.m.
These sessions are free of charge, and ISU Extension encourages everyone to register online to attend. Each field day presents a fantastic opportunity to learn about farming practices, network with experts, and see firsthand how local farmers contribute to the broader community.
