The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $6.91 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $94.94.
Brent crude oil rose $7.85 and currently priced at $101.29.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $67.54 and Brent crude was at $71.21.
As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.56 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 3 cents from last week's price and $.57 higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.88, down 6 cents from last week's price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 1 cent this week with a statewide average of $4.72. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.15 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 26 cents less than the national average of $4.98.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.64 for U87-E10, $3.02 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.95 for ULSD#2, $4.21 for ULSD#1, and $2.78 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Natural gas prices rose $.01 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $9.27/MMbtu.
