Agricultural lenders, farm consultants, financial advisors, and producers will gather in Sioux Center on October 29, 2026 for the 2026 Siouxland Agricultural Lender’s Seminar. The event will provide participants with current, research-based information designed to support agricultural decision-making, financial planning, and risk management.
The seminar will be held at the Terrace View Event Center in Sioux Center, Iowa. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with educational sessions scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Throughout the day, attendees will hear from industry experts, extension specialists, and agricultural professionals on topics affecting farm businesses and rural economies.
One session will focus on water quality rights and regulations. Dan Andersen, Associate Professor and Extension Manure Management Specialist at Iowa State University, will discuss water infrastructure investments, manure management practices, nutrient cycling, water quality concerns, and regulatory considerations that may impact agricultural operations.
Market conditions and agricultural policy will also be major discussion topics. Susan Stroud, Founder of No Bull Agriculture, will examine how trade agreements, biofuel policies, and changing global demand are influencing crop and livestock markets. Her presentation will explore factors that could affect commodity prices and profit margins through 2027.
Attendees will also receive insights into farmland and equipment values. R.D. Schrader of Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company, Inc. will discuss current trends in land markets, machinery values, and broader economic influences affecting agricultural investments.
Farm policy developments will be addressed by Guang Tian, Assistant Professor and Extension Crop Markets and Management Specialist at Iowa State University. He will provide an update on the latest developments related to the Farm Bill and discuss how policy actions may influence agricultural producers.
The dairy industry will receive special attention during the seminar. Will Babler of Pinion Risk Management will present a dairy market outlook and discuss strategies for managing commodity and margin risk. Eric Weuve, Farm Management Specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach, will explore the increasing role of nontraditional management and financial partners in production agriculture.
Participants will also hear from Fred Hall, Dairy Field Specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach, who will review findings from a recent survey of Iowa dairy producers. Discussing the value of the event, Hall stated, “This seminar has proven itself in assisting Siouxland lenders and financial advisors as a local source for current information which they can use as they help producers manage risk.”
The registration deadline is October 23, 2026. Registration costs are $100 for the first attendee, $75 for each additional attendee from the same business, $30 for students, and $125 for day-of registrations. The seminar offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical knowledge and stay informed about important agricultural and financial trends.
