Register now for feedlot forum 2025

By Andi Anderson

The registration deadline for the 2025 Feedlot Forum is fast approaching! Scheduled for January 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Terrace View Event Center in Sioux Center, the Forum promises to be a must-attend event for those in the cattle feeding industry. The registration deadline is January 6.

"This year’s Forum will be a double header for those involved in cattle feeding," said Beth Doran, Iowa State University extension beef specialist. The morning sessions will cover important production topics such as the health and carcass quality of dairy-beef steers, the economics of heavier cattle, and pricing feeder cattle based on genetic merit.

In the afternoon, attendees will focus on tools for managing financial risks and gain insights into market trends for cattle and grains, with a particular focus on the uncertain future of feeder and fed cattle prices.

The registration fee is $25 for adults and $10 for students, which includes lunch and materials. You can register online at Feedlot Forum Registration. If online registration isn't an option, please mail the required details and a check to ISU Extension and Outreach Sioux County at 400 Central Ave. NW, Suite 700, Orange City, IA. For more information, contact the event coordinator at doranb@iastate.edu or call 712-737-4230.
