Registration is open to all greenhouse growers, including commercial, public and research sectors.

"It's always a great event with high quality speakers from around the nation," explained Dan Fillius, commercial horticulture specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. "Certified commercial pesticide applicators who attend can also be eligible for pesticide license recertification."

The short course will cover a variety of topics including coleus production, greenhouse irrigation, pesticide usage and safety and successful implementation of biological controls, among others.

Several industry professionals will be speaking at the event, including Brian Krug, technical lead, Syngenta Flowers; Brian Whipker, professor, commercial floriculture production, North Carolina State University; Ray Cloyd, professor, entomology, Kansas State University; and Evan Alderman, program specialist, Pesticide Safety Education Program, Iowa State University. Iowa State University associate professor of horticulture Chris Currey will wrap up the event. A complete itinerary is available online.
