The event will give attendees an opportunity to evaluate research projects focusing on high tunnel vegetable and fruit production and gain information on tomato grafting, symptoms of herbicide drift, integration of poultry and vegetable production, pest management in cucurbit crops, sweet potato and potato production, and honey bee health and behavior.

The field day also will demonstrate the use of the finger weeder, vegetable wash station, and other equipment and tools used in small-scale fruit and vegetable production.

The event is supported by the United States Department of Agriculture's Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program, the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship's Specialty Crop Block grants, and Johnny's Seeds.

The field day is organized in partnership with Practical Farmers of Iowa and the Iowa Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association.
