Tallgrass Prairie Center Offers Natural Management Seminars

The University of Northern Iowa Tallgrass Prairie Center will host a series of restoration and natural management seminars in 2018.

The first seminar featured Kristine Nemec on "Creating the Case for Habitat in Rights-of-Way." Nemec manages the Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management program, which is in its 30th year at UNI. Nemec is also an active participant of the Rights-of-Way as Habitat Working Group, which is facilitated by the Energy Resource Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Other topics of this four-part series, which is scheduled through April, include wetland mitigation, habitat establishment and maintenance, and landscaping with native plants. All seminars will be held at the Tallgrass Prairie Center, located at 2412 W. 27th Street, Cedar Falls.
