Kruzic Named WFAN Interim Executive Director
Iowa Ag Connection - 03/27/2020

The Women, Food and Agriculture Network (WFAN) Board of Directors announced Thursday the appointment of Ahna Kruzic as interim executive director of the Ames-based organization.

A WFAN partner, champion, and member of the Board of Directors, Kruzic will be taking a leave of absence from her role as board chair during her tenure as interim executive director.

Kruzic, who is based in Oakland, Calif., is a movement organizer and communications strategist from rural Iowa, and is passionate about weaving strategies in support of farm and rural justice while building solidarity to dismantle oppression across geographies, the organization noted in a release. Kruzic will continue in her role as communications and media director at Pesticide Action Network, a long-time partner of WFAN's.

Incoming board of directors Co-chairs Jennifer Vazquez-Koster and Kari Carney congratulated Kruzic in her new WFAN role.

"Ahna has brought her experience in community organizing, communications, fundraising, and program leadership to the WFAN family through her work on the Board of Directors and as a member and volunteer. We are excited she has agreed to serve WFAN in this new way as interim executive director. Thanks to our staff, members, and supporters, we are well-positioned to continue engaging women in building an ecological and just food and agricultural system, and are pleased that Ahna will contribute her experience to WFAN's staff team as Interim Executive Director in this important moment of transition," the two co-chairs said joinly in the release.
