USDA Suspends Cost of Pollination Report
USAgNet - 12/07/2018

The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service is suspending the Cost of Pollination report which was slated for release on Dec. 21 at 12 p.m. ET. This report tracked the cash fees associated with honey bee pollination based on information from crop producers about their use of honey bees to pollinate their crops.

NASS will continue to produce the Honey and Honey Bee Colonies reports which will be released on March 14 and Aug. 1, 2019 respectively.

Before deciding to suspend this report, USDA reviewed its estimating programs against mission- and user-based criteria as well as the amount of time remaining in the fiscal year to meet its budget and program requirements while maintaining the strongest data in service to U.S. agriculture. The decision to suspend this report was not made lightly, but was necessary, given USDA's available fiscal and program resources. The agency will continue to review its federal agricultural statistical programs using the same criteria to ensure it provides timely, accurate and useful statistics.
