U.S. October Tractor Sales Fell, While Combines Sold for More

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in October 2019 were down 4% compared to the same month last year.
Agri Marketing magazine reports that for the ten months in 2019, a total of 214,620 tractors were sold which compares to 206,460 sold thru October 2019 representing a 4% increase year to date.
For the month, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were down 4% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 5%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were up 2%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were down 3%.
For the ten months, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are up 5% over last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were even. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 3%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 7%.
Combine sales were up 8% for the month. Sales of combines for the first ten months totaled 4,114 an increase of 3% over the same period in 2018.
