Farm Bill Implementation Hearing Announced

U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman Pat Roberts of Kansas and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow of Michigan Wednesday announced the Committee will hold a hearing titled, "Implementing the 2018 Farm Bill."

Stephen Censky, deputy secretary, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. will speak before the committee on Oct. 17 beginning at 10 a.m. in 328A Russell Senate Office Building

The hearing will be webcast live on ag.senate.gov.

Censky was raised on a soybean and corn farm near Jackson, Minn., and received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture from South Dakota State University. He later went on to earn a postgraduate diploma in agriculture science from the University of Melbourne.

Censky served as a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator James Abdnor before holding several appointments in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, eventually rising to become administrator of the Foreign Agricultural Service. He went on to serve as chief executive officer of the American Soybean Association, a position he held for 21 years. In 2017, he was nominated and confirmed to the office of U.S. Deputy Secretary of Agriculture.
